I'd go for a really light color, white or yellow or something. It will
be sitting out in the sun while you are using it, and this will keep it
just a bit cooler. I guess with all that Bondo the "B-29 mirror finish"
look is out, right? Paint the bottom International Orange, just in
case....

You mean paint the upside down bottom orange, don't you, LOL (hoping it
would not be needed)? There is so much bondo that the car is non-magnetic!
The tech guys might decide that it is an aftermarket body made of plastic!
Light colors are out. Cannot see them in the distance on the salt. Timer
needs to be able to see and tell the ambulance driver and safety crew where
to go...not that that would ever happen to me... or are you trying to tell
me that I should get lost? Never to be found again?
mayf, inquiring minds want to know...

Light colors ar eout. Timer has to be able to see the car against a snow
white salt. But that bottom orange color has some merit. As I mentioned to
Stu on direct reply, I believe the car has so much bondo that it is now
non-magnetic. Oh, was Stu trying to tell me to get lost on the salt? Hiding
in plain sight?

Yep, for sure. That old story has been around for a long time and is set in
different locations. I am definitely not in that category.

I don't know Mayf after that guy took his last ride at Bonneville this year
perhaps you CAN rig them to open at an opportune moment. Just make sure they
open at the same time (braking) or independently corrosponding to the
direction of the spin.

Now there is an idea! Open each door according to spin direction. As to
Nolan White, he was in a stream liner, no doors. And Thousand Oaks! Will
wonders never cease! I went to high school in Oxnard! Then on to Cal Poly in
SLO.

Just a wild thought. According to a magazine article
I read this spring, Art Arfons still drives his beloved
Sunbeam Tiger. Have you thought about seeking his
input. As you know, he has a lot of experience at
Bonneville.
