We are now hard at work on the new SAOCA newsletter. I wanted to mention
this to the list because I believe that the last time we discussed this
topic, a newsletter was still up in the air. The club members have voted
and the newsletter will be called "The Alpine Marque". So far, we have
gathered enough material to cover the first year and club members have
been doing a good job of letting me us know what they would like to see
in print.

My sister-in-law, Lori Spencer has graciously volunteered her time to
layout the magazine and see it to print. She is a technical writer for a
local Dayton firm and has a tremendous amount of talent in this area.
I'm sure the final product will be first class. We look to have the
first issue available to members this Spring. Now that the Christmas
Holiday is behind us, we can get back on track and get to working on
Club material again. For those of you who have joined in the past two
weeks, please accept my apologies for not getting back to you right
away. This was one of the most hectic Christmas Holidays ever! It's
amazing how much in demand you become once you have a young child at the
Holidays!

Memberships are still coming in and I will be mailing more Charter
Member Polo shirts once my next order comes in. I look for them to
arrive around the second week in January.

Let's keep them on the road!
Ian

I just got my first SAOCA newsletter this morning. WOW! Great job putting this
together. Intersesting articles, nice color pictures, very perfessionally
produced. I was very interested in the clock article. I'm going out tomorrow
to see if mine is correct. Congradulations to all that contributed articles
and produced this.

My British hat is off to you all. I can't wait for this next installment.

Thanks Tim, for the kind words. We all work really hard on this and
especially a big thank you to Ian and Lori Spencer (Ian's sister-in-law)
who are the prime movers behind the newsletter.
Next quarter, I'm going to continue on explaining body refinishing. If
any of you have some preferences on tech article subjects, bring it up
here or forward your ideas to me.
Thanks,
jan

I for one had not expected so much! Issue 1 Spring 2002. What a mag.... I was some what
disappointed though when the story/s ,,,I got into so much, Yeh, I know continued ,, till next
issue.
Consider me engaged and hooked. I need it more and more. Great Pictures and member info. As
for the question on page 30, It would seem that Holly Green would be more shiney?
Well back to the home page to register. The people on the left coast have to have more of a
showing ..
Cheers

Hi Folks;
Yes, I also am very impressed by the first issue of the "The Marque".
This just goes to show the amount of dedication that is behind "SAOCA"
I have never seen a newsletter with so much proffesional quality poured into
it.
Color no less. Everyone involved in this publication have done a tremendous
job.
As stated in past messages, it's pretty obvious that Ian is not alone in
the "new club". As Chuck would like to see more left coasters, I'd like to
see more
from the "right" coast people. (come on guys, you have to be a little bit
curious now)
I find it pretty sad that only three people from Pa. have joined the SAOCA.
The more people in each region, the better our regional events can be.
As the saying goes," Many hands make light work".
Congratulations to Ian and the Marque staff. It just keeps getting better!!

Jeff in Pa.

Yes, we will ship overseas. We have 10 international members to date, including
Sweden, England, Norway, and Canada.

I'm very happy to get home tonight and find all the new memberships waiting for
me to process. Looks like I'm going to have a busy evening! Thanks everyone for
joining. Jeff and I will be contacting you on an individual basis with a formal
welcome to the club soon. Lori will be printing another batch of magazines this
week and I may need to get another run of Charter Member shirts made because I'm
starting to run low again. - Ian
