I had a French specification Series II Alpine and it had a horn rely.
Does anyone know why some Alpines had horn relays and others did not?
Thanks.
Tom

I'm pretty sure there is no relay. If it is U/S, then it is either horn
ring,
or the harns themselves, either disconnected or out of adjustment.
Julian.

My Series II has a horn relay.
Also has an OD relay, and they are the same.
The markings and dates lead me to believe that they
are original equipment.

I found the problem in my horn that started this thread, left horn was missing, right horn would not sound, and had no power. have an aftermarket steering wheel, so horn wiper not in play. turns out the problem, was a bad connection at the wiper motor, that solved the horn mystery, and the no brake light problem. Leave it to the prince of darkness to feed the horns off the brakelight switch

Alpiners,
the series 1 had a horn relay as shown in the wiring diagram, not shown
for series 2 but I would bet there's a good chance that early series 2
used late series 1 parts.
regards
Jeff
