BlankHi,
I am looking to replace the rear leaf springs on my '66 Mk1a. Can anyone out
there recommend a supplier or should I just have a set made by my local leaf
spring maker? I did see that a company named Victoria British LTD. in Kansas
advertises them. Anyone have any experience with their replacement springs? I
appreciate any help you can provide.

Others will chime in that you should NEVER buy anything from VB. The
other specialists carry better quality and know something about what
they sell. VB has telephone order-takers.
I would check out Dale's Restorations for springs. he is a Tiger guy

I would not get CAT springs unless they have been changed. I bought
some in the late 80's and it looked like I put a high rise lift kit on
the car and that was not the look I wanted for a sports car.
My car is a little too low now and I have not decided yet whether I will
get my springs re-arched or go with new.

Actually IMHO the best way to go with springs is to stick
with the stock setup but use air shocks. Tom Stoyle wrote
a nice tech tip for TE/AE on how to do this easily.
Its works great for a Tiger that is driven most of the time
empty but once in a while a very full trunk. Why drive
with springs so stiff that it shakes your teeth out.
Now if you are using the car for autocross, etc, that's a
completely different story. I'm sure the listers can suggest
the best setup for what type of racing your are doing.

I have had rear springs from Victoria British on my Tiger for several years.
My car is street driven with stock suspension & Brigestone Potenza 185/70-13
street tires.
The ride height seems correct & the spring stiffness is what I was
expecting.
The front spring eye fit the body correctly, but the rear was slightly
narrow & I used a flat washer on each side of the spring to fit the rear
shackle.
I have not tried any other springs for comparison, but I have no complaints
with the springs that I received from VB.
Though VB is bad mouthed consistently on this list, I have delt with
them several times and have usually been satisfied.
I do agree that Sunbeam Specialties is my first choice for parts.
