I paid about a grand for a set of four unmolested wheels about four years ago, and felt I got a deal.

There wasn't a fifth one offered, but I feel fine with this as I have the original spare tire still on the original rim in the trunk.

I paid $1200 about two years ago for a nice set that need to be restored.
That was a good deal. I tried to buy a fifth one on eBay last year. I lost
interest when it went for over $500.

Now I am thinking of getting rid of my wheels, as they are too narrow for the
power we are making.
