Hi all,
I have a Florida title in my name that I signed over to a friend who was
storing my GT6. Now I want to ship the car to Sweden and I am wondering if
the title being signed over to her will be a problem. Can I order a new
title from FL (and have it sent to Charleston, SC where the car is?
Any ideas/suggestions for good shipping companies in Charleston?
thanks a bunch, derek

I am a little familiar with Florida titles. If you desire to have the title
back in your name simply do the following. If your friend's name was entered
on a Florida title as "purchaser" and the friend has not yet applied for a
title in her name...you may complete a form (affidavit) stating that the
buyer's name was entered in error. You will be issued a clean replacement
title in your name. The form is/was # wpdocs\affidvy.msc rev:9/12/97. If
the title has been transferred to your friend's name she will then have to
"sell" it back to you. I have no idea what the tax issues will be for the
transfer. A relative can normally transfer it as a "gift" with no taxes due.
