I increased the coverage on my MKI a couple years ago from $16,000 to
$24,000 with no problems. The insurance company just wanted photos of the car -
sides, front, rear and glass.
Maximum coverage, $0 deductible on collision, agreed value $24,000. Premium
is $168.00 per year.
Insurance company is MetLife Auto & Home. The agent is Condon & Skelly
located in Maple Shade, NJ.

I've got my 66 MK1A (above average, not concours) insured for $40,000
with Auto Owner's Insurance. Full coverage, $100,000/300,000 liability,
$500 deductible, no mileage limitation since it's my every day car.
Costs me about $450 a year here in the desert in Arizona.
The real test of an insurance company is when you make a claim. Someone
backed into the Tiger last year with moderate damage. I was going to
take it to a local body shop but the claims agent said he didn't think
that was a good idea, and he suggested I find a custom shop that's more
used to rare cars to make the repairs. I did, and even though they were
a lot more expensive than the shop I was originally going to take it to,
Auto Owner's paid immediately, with no problem whatsoever. Imagine my
good surprise a couple of months later when the agent called me up to
let me know he was sending me back the $500 deductible I had paid. The
other guy's insurance company admitted that it was their guy's fault.

Can someone comment on the driving restrictions that the specialized
insurance companies require? To and from events only? Weekends? 58 miles
per month?
Thanks,
Jim

I have Hagerty and it's 2K miles per year for events (cruises, shows, etc.)
and 2K miles per year for pleasure. Up here with 4+ months of snow, I do fine
as long as I don't use it to drive to work.

I have been with Heacock for four years. The agreed value (suggested by
Heacock) is 40,000. the allowed use is 3,000 miles a year for shows,
maintenance and occasional cruising. By the way, Heacock sponsors a first
class car show in October every year in Lakeland Florida in October. Robin

Mine is 2,500 per year per vehicle (Tiger & '65 Mustang), no apparent
restrictions on use other than possibly racing (street or otherwise).
