Question about tire size... here's the deal.
I recently bought a set of used alloy wheels in perfect condition for my
tiger and saved about $400 off new price. There is almost new tires
mounted at this time, however, on 14 X6 wheels - 215 14 60's
on the rear 14 X 7 's - 235 14 60's. I was hoping to use at least the
215's for the back 'cause the tires have less then 1K on them. But it
looks like it may be too close for comfort. I have 195 14 60's on
front of the Alpine , w/ 205's on back. Should I just waste these tires
and go w/ the smaller tires ? Is 215's too big ?

thanks in advance ...

My 67 SV has slotted mags on it. I think they are 13
x 6. It also has 165-80-13s on it. I need new tires
and am not sure what would fit. I am not worried
about speedo calibration - I just want something that
looks right on the car. I was thinking 185-70-13s - 60
series tires would be nice but I think to get one to
fill the wheel well would be too fat for the rim.

Any thoughts/experiences?

I too have 13 X 6 rims, and while looking around the tire mfgrs sites found
that you can go as large as 205 X 60 on the 6" rim. In fact, I would
imagine the 165 is a tad narrow for the 6 incher. I think the limiting
factor will be what will fit in the wheel well.
