A friend said they were following my progress on this here Journal, and I realized haven't been posting here, preferring to post YouTubevideos. So, why not both? Since my last post (end October), I've removed and rebuilt the distributor, which included installing new bushings, repainting the body and replacing the oil fabric. So now I'm once again shaving the yak that is The Beast. To see what's going on with my oil pressure (do I have any? dunno) I want to remove the distributor so I can prime the oil pump. But of course I can't remove the distributor. It's seized to the block... Last night I sprayed it all up with Kroil; hopefully sometime this century it will loosen up enough for me to be able to remove it. Stinks!

Today my brother in law Dan came by and we got a few more things done on The Beast. We finished filling the cooling system (no more leaks!) and Dan washed the charcoal for the carbon canister. We experimented with drying the charcoal but decided to just let the water evaporate (in progress.) I also cranked the engine a few times, to push some coolant (and oil) around the block. I did a bunch of random small things today as I wait for my mongo Rimmer Bros order: * Replaced the starter cable. I've had the new one for months but just never got around to installing it * Cleaned the carbon canister. The dirty grimy gunky solidified grease on top was pretty gross.
